Garda checkpoints Dublin: Unaccompanied driver with no insurance arrested after testing positive for cocaine & cannabis

A driver found themselves in hot water after testing positive for multiple drugs at a garda checkpoint in north Dublin.

The unaccompanied driver admitted to having no insurance when they were stopped by officers on Finglas Road.

A roadside test was carried out which found the driver testing positive for cocaine and cannabis.

Gardai arrested the driver and issued a fixed charge notice with summonses to follow.

A garda spokesperson said on Twitter: "Checkpoint on Finglas Road carried out by Roads Policing Unit North Central.

"Car stopped and driver was unaccompanied and admitted to having no insurance. Roadside test for drugs carried out, and driver arrested. Fixed charge notice and summonses to follow."
