Gardai in Kilcullen, Co. Kildare arrested a driver after they were found to be nine times over the legal limit.
After stopping the vehicle, gardai asked the driver to take a roadside breath test which they failed.
Gardai also found the driver had no licence or insurance.
In a statement, a garda spokesperson said: "Kilcullen Gardaí stopped this driver yesterday
-Failed roadside breath test
-Arrested
-Had no licence or insurance and was found to be 9 times over the legal limit
"Now faces a disqualification period of 3 years, a €5000 fine and up to 6 months imprisonment".
Gardai around Kildare were kept busy over the weekend as Naas Roads Policing Unity conducted a speed check.
A car travelling at 143 kmph was detected by gardai on the R402 at Ardkill, Carbury.
After stopping the car, the driver failed a drugs test and was tested positive for cannabis.
The driver was arrested for driving under the influent.
Using the Garda Mobility App, it was also found that the car's tax had been expired for 323 days, and the vehicle was impounded.
