A serving Garda has been arrested after reportedly being accused of sexual assault in a Garda station.
The Garda in question was arrested and held in Dublin yesterday by specialist detectives.
The officer has been suspended while investigations are being carried out, according to the Irish Independent.
The woman claims that she was assaulted by the Garda in a station in the east of the country last year.
The alleged assault took place in an interview room, and a major forensic investigation took place at the station where the woman was allegedly assaulted.
The officer reportedly denied the allegations, and has since been released without charge.
