Garda appeal for help from public after man robbed during brutal Donegal incident

Gardaí have appealed to the public to help them out after a man was left with injuries following a group assault in Donegal.

Officers attached to the Letterkenny unit are investigating the robbery, which took place on the Ramelton Road in the town on Thursday evening.

At around 9.30pm, a man left a nearby bus station and was walking in the direction of the carpark just across the road.

While at the pedestrian crossing, Gardai say he was confronted by two females and a male, who assaulted him.

His mobile phone was stolen during the course of the incident.

The man in question had to receive medical attention for the injuries he sustained during the shocking incident, though Gardai say they are not believed to be life threatening in their nature.

A spokesperson said: "" are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or to anyone who may have captured the incident on dashcam footage to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100. The Garda Confidential line may be reached on 1800 666 111. We are eager to progress the investigation and all information provided will be welcomed."
