
Police are warning Lawndale residents about garage burglaries reported blocks apart from each other in December and January.
In each case, the suspect forced entry into a residential garage through a side door and stole items inside, Chicago police said in a community alert.
The first break-in happened between 2 p.m. Dec. 15 and 7:50 a.m. Dec. 16 in the 2300 block of South Kostner Avenue, police said. The other occurred about 3:45 p.m. Jan. 2 in the 2200 block of South Kostner Avenue.
No suspect description was available, police said.
