The dream is Alexa. The reality is Kwik Fit. Dungarees, overalls, blah, whatever. They’re tricky to wear – as a rule, anything with a button at nipple height generally is. Yet, here they are again, like a great, denim cockroach, refusing to die. To be fair, they are versatile. The shape – with a T, without a T, showing a bra, showing sideboob – lends itself to a tonne of looks, which explains why they’ve been around for about 18 months and are back, for spring, under the name “overall” (it’s a semantic minefield). These are from Gap, a shop that manages to make safe things look chic, and therefore should be trusted with all trends. This pair are slim-fitting and, being sort of black, open up their wearer to all manner of looks. None of which can be traced back to pests.
