Gangster pals of Omar Sadiq post £25,000 reward online beside picture of his 'killer'

Pals of slain Glasgow gangland figure Omar Sadiq have posted a £25,000 reward online alongside a picture of the man they hold responsible for the murder.

Sadiq was found in a pool of blood on Boydstone Road near the city's Silverburn shopping centre after being attacked as he sat in his Audi on Tuesday.

Police later launched a murder investigation after the 32-year-old died in hospital.

Now a sinister post from gangland pals of Sadiq is circulating on social media which appears to offer a cash reward for anyone who can reveal the whereabouts of the person they blame for the killing.

The chilling message beside a picture of an Asian man reads: "Anyone that knows, knows the moneys there.

"Police ain't doing something. Let's get together and do it!"

Earlier today we told how police are investigating a petrol bomb attack on a property linked to a suspect in the gangland murder.

Firefighters attended the blaze at the flat.

Police said today they were following a 'positive line of enquiry' in relation to the murder inquiry.

Chief Inspector Shaheen Baber said additional patrols were being put on across the south side of the city as he urged anyone with information to come forward.

Fears have been raised that the killing of Sadiq could spark a gang war in Glasgow.

Sadiq was linked to race hate killers Imran “Baldy” Shahid, his brother Zeeshan Shahid and Faisal Mushtaq, who were all sentenced to life in November 2006 after being found guilty of killing Kriss Donald, 15.

He was linked to a knife attack on a witness involved in the case in 2008.

Sadiq was caged for five years in 2009 for trying to ram a rival off the road while pointing a firearm at the car.
