I have read all the David Walliams novels and this is one of my favourites! It’s so hilarious and at the same time heartwarming. It has you gripped to the page all the time. I love the funny descriptions of characters he creates. He has the rare gift of being able to balance high comedy with an emotional message.
Every Friday night Ben is sent to his utterly ‘boring’ granny. Until one day he realises there may be a lot more to his granny than he ever thought possible... Together Ben and granny go on a journey across London to steal the Crown Jewels!
Although the ending is very sad, it does not disappoint, as Ben learns a valuable yet heartbreaking lesson, that makes him treasure his granny all the more.
