Gangland-style bleach attack sees man snatched off street and taken on terrifying seven-mile drive

A man was kidnapped and driven seven miles to Salford before being tortured.

The victim, who is in his 20s, was abducted in Darcy Lever, Bolton, and taken to Agecroft Road, Pendlebury, where he was doused in bleach.

The man eventually managed to escape. Police are describing the incident as a gangland-style attack.

The man was walking along the street when he was snatched.

In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 8pm on Monday 3 June 2019, a man in his 20s was forced into a car on Hacken Lane, Darcy Lever by two men. 

"He was driven to Agecroft Road, Salford where he was assaulted and doused in a substance believed to be bleach.

"The victim was able to escape before the police were alerted by a member of the public. 

"He was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been released. 

"Enquiries are ongoing."

Detectives are checking CCTV cameras on the route from Darcy Lever to Pendlebury along the A666 - the most direct route.

Hacken Lane has a few terraced properties and is in a semi-rural area of Bolton close to Darcy Lever Cricket Club and the Rivers Tonge, and Croal.
