The man who gunned down an enforcer for the notorious Daniel crime clan was allowed out of jail for his father's funeral.
William Paterson, who is serving a life sentence for the 2010 killing of Kevin "Gerbil" Carroll, was comforted by friends and family following the service for William snr.
The service at Glasgow Crematorium was delayed by nearly half an hour to wait for the vehicle bringing Paterson to the service from prison, reports the Daily Record.

The 43-year-old arrived dressed in a long black coat, with black shoes, trousers, and tie. He was sporting a fresh haircut and was handcuffed to a male security officer and flanked by two female guards on his way to and from the service.
Paterson, a key lieutenant in the Lyons crime gang, was one of around 200 mourners.
His father passed away last month following a trip to his local shop.
William snr’s body had arrived at the crematorium in a white carriage drawn by two white horses.
A bagpiper played as mourners entered the chapel and a song by Simply Red was played over the sound system.
A Police Scotland car was parked yards from the crematorium. After the service, Paterson, who is known as Buff, was escorted back to the vehicle in which he had arrived.
He shared hugs with pals Eddie Lyons and Liam Boyle before returning to jail.
Paterson gunned down Gerbil, 29, in a supermarket car park in broad daylight, in front of terrified shoppers on January 13, 2010.
Gerbil – a feared enforcer for the notorious Daniel crime clan – was sitting in the back of a car outside Asda in Robroyston.
Clad in a balaclava, Paterson and another gunman ambushed their rival and fired 13 bullets into his body in 25 seconds.
The killers fled in a stolen VW Golf which they torched in Glenmavis, Lanarkshire, and dumped the weapons in nearby Coatbridge.
Paterson fled to Spain but was arrested and jailed for 22 years in 2015.
A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson said: “We do not comment on individuals.”
