Gang use ride-on lawnmower to flee scene as well as stealing 152 car during Meath burglary

A brazen gang made a slow escape when one of their members fled the scene of a burglary using a ride-on lawnmower.

The group of thieves gained access to a Meath home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A 152 Meath registered red, Hyundai Santa Fe was stolen from the house in Nobber as well as a red, ride-on Castlegarden XDC140 lawnmower.

It is understood that one of the members made their getaway using the ride-on lawnmower while another drove the car away.

Investigating Navan Gardai said: "We are investigating an unauthorised taking that took place in Cruicetown, Nobber last night at approximately 3am on the 05/02/20.

"It was a red, Hyundai, Santa Fe, 152MH##8. Also taken was a ride-on lawnmower Castlegarden XDC140, red in colour.

They added: "If anybody can help in any way please can the gardai on 046-9036100."
