Gang surround man sat in car and smash windows to attack him

A 46-year-old man was treated in hospital for injures to his arms after he was assaulted while sat in a parked car.

Three men approached the parked car on South Hill Road in Dingle at around 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday).

They smashed the car's windows and then assaulted the man inside the car.

The men, described as in their 20s by police, ran off after the attack.

The victim later attended hospital for treatment to his injuries.

Police put a cordon in place on South Hill Road yesterday after the assault. Broken glass was seen scattered along the road.

CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Detective Inspector Paul Jones said to the ECHO : “We are in the early stages of an investigation into the incident on South Hill Road and we would ask anyone who saw anything or has any information to come forward.

“This attack has left a man injured and a vehicle damaged and we would like to reassure the community are determined to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

“If you saw or heard anything suspicious in South Hill Road or the surrounding area around 4.30pm, or have captured home CCTV or dashcam footage, please let us know as any information could be vital to the investigation.”
