This video appears to shows a gang of youths attacking a 14-year-old Muslim girl in a suspected Islamophobic attack.
Irish police - the Gardai - are investigating the assault in Dublin, Ireland, after the teen allegedly had her hijab ripped from her head before being beaten and humiliated with eggs by a group of youngsters.
A shopkeeper nearby also claims he was subjected to vile racist abuse from the gang after refusing to sell them cigarettes, Dublin Live reports.
Moments after the thugs left the shop the 14-year-old Muslim girl was allegedly attacked in Dundrum, Dublin.
A video of the alleged assault shows a group of youths surround the girl as she screams.
The camera loses focus before egg shells are then seen on the ground and the distraught girl can be heard crying.
Bystanders ran in to help as the gang left the scene meanwhile a warning text was sent out by parents in the hope no other kids fell victim to any attacks.
Gardai confirmed they're investigating an alleged assault which occurred in broad daylight last Sunday.
A spokesman said: "Gardai are investigating an alleged minor assault of a female in her teens, which occurred on Sunday 18th August 2019 at approximately 15:30 on Main St, Dundrum.
"No arrests have been made and investigation is ongoing."
Local Fine Gael councillor Jim O'Leary blasted the attack and urged anyone with information to contact gardai.
He told Dublin Live: "It's dreadful. Whatever your views about any issue this is assault, and it's assault on a minor just going about her business.
"I urge anyone with information to come forward. We need to nip this in the bud right now."
Independent councillor Anne Colgan also described the incident as "disturbing" and added that Muslims are a strong part of the community around Dundrum.
She said: "With the Mosque here in Clonskeagh, the Muslim community is very much part of the locality.
"It's very disturbing to see this, especially as the people involved are so young."
Culture and heritage minister Josepha Madigan has also commented on the incident saying she hopes those responsible see justice "quickly".
She said: “I condemn in the strongest possible terms the assault on a Muslim girl who had her hijab taken from her in Dundrum village.”
“I very much welcome the fact that Gardai have confirmed that this awful hate crime and assault is under investigation. I wish them a speedy resolution in bringing the culprits of this crime to justice.”
