A group of youths were reportedly seen killing wildlife at a popular park.
Police patrolling Eastham Country Park in Wirral at around 7pm on Monday, April 24 were alerted by members of the public to a dead squirrel and blackbird. Officers believe they were killed by youths.
Merseyside Police said enquiries are ongoing into the incident. Wirral Police also posted a statement on Facebook which said officers had received reports of young people "indiscriminately" killing the animals.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We can confirm we received a report of a suspected wildlife crime in Eastham Country Park in Wirral. At around 7pm on Monday, April 24, officers on foot patrol were alerted by members of the public to a dead squirrel and blackbird.
"It is suspected that youths had killed the animals and our enquiries are ongoing into the incident. If you have any information, DM @MerPolCC on Twitter, call 101, quoting reference 23000346261."
