Gang of train thugs attack boy, punching him in the face before stealing his bike

A boy was attacked and his bike stolen when a gang of thugs surrounded him in north dublin.

Gardai are investigating the terrifying incident, which took place beside Kilbarrack DART station yesterday evening after the youths had reportedly been removed from a train for anti-social behaviour.

After being thrown off the DART by security officers, the thugs attacked the young teen, punching him in the face before making off with his bike.

It’s understood that they got on another northbound train but some of the gang members were later rounded up in Howth by quick-acting gardai.

The boy’s mother took to social media to warn other parents that the gang was targeting children and young teens in the area.

She also commended gardai at Raheny for their quick response, revealing that they had managed to catch two of the youths.

The distraught mum’s post was shared widely on Facebook and hundreds of well-wishers commenting below it expressed their revulsion at the cowardly attack, with many saying it was time parents were held to account for their teens’ behaviour.
