Gang of train robbers busted, 4 held in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: The Government Railway Police (DRP) have busted a gang of train robbers at Chandigarh Railway station. Its four members were arrested from Sadbhavna Express on Tuesday night, said Chandigarh GRP SHO sub-inspector Vilaiti Ram.

The sub-inspector said, “The robbers used to target sleeping passengers of long-distance trains . We have solved three cases with their arrest and made the recoveries.” The arrested are Chotey Lal, Jatinder Yadav, Manak Ram and Inderpal, all natives of Daulatpur village in Badaun district, Uttar Pradesh. He said a passenger, Priyanka had lodged a complaint on March 6 when she was robbed of her belongings in Kalka-Howrah Express.
