Gang of thugs seriously assault victim in Scots park as manhunt launched

A Scots man was left hospitalised with a head injury after being seriously assaulted by three men.

The incident occurred on Houston Road near Crosslee Park in Johnstone, Renfewshire around 11:30pm on Saturday 26 June.

The 47-year-old victim was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment, according to Police Scotland.

His injuries thankfully were not life-threatening and he has since been released from hospital.

All three of the men then continued along Houston Road, heading in the direction of Houston Primary School.

Police in Renfrewshire are now appealing for information about what they have described as a 'serious assault.'

Detective Constable Paul Fanning, of Renfrewshire CID, said: “Thankfully the man has been released from hospital and has not sustained life threatening injuries.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed the assault to get in contact with police.

“I would also ask if there is any motorists or homeowners with possible dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist with our investigation to come forward and speak to officers.

“Police can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 4385 of Saturday, 26 June, 2021.”
