A brawl erupted between a large group of men in Liverpool city centre.

The fight, which was captured on video, shows around 12 men fighting on North John Street

Footage, taken by a witness and understood to be from this weekend, begins by showing the chaotic scenes with a number of punches being thrown between the large group of men.

The men can be seen running in between one another to fight various people.

At one point in the clip, a man wearing a black top throws a punch which causes a man wearing a beige jacket to stagger back.

Soon after this another man, with long hair and wearing a long-sleeved black top, comes running up to punch the man in beige, however misses and ends up on a wooden barrier.

The pair continue to fight, holding one another, which causes them to lean over the wooden barrier.

A man on the other side appears to push the men back over onto the pavement to move them away.

The pair, not letting go of one another, then fall to the floor.

As they fight on the floor, the man on the beige jacket holds on to the man in the long-sleeved t-shirts hair.

Coming from behind the men on the floor, another man wearing jeans and a black t-shirt kicks the man in beige in the head.

Another man pushes him and he falls to the floor.

Cars can be heard beeping in the background as the brawl ensues and at the end of the video a woman can be heard saying "the police are here, scatter."

Another woman can also be heard shouting "get out of here."

Merseyside Police were contacted for comment and it is unclear how serious any of the men's injuries were.
