Gang of car thieves roaming Scotland stealing high-value vehicles hunted by police

A gang of "professional" car thieves roaming Scotland stealing high-value vehicles are wanted by police.

They struck in Glenrothes last week and made off in seconds with two motorbikes and two cars worth £50,000.

They were spotted on cameras heading towards Edinburgh over the Queensferry Crossing just a few minutes later.

Owner Connie Scott yesterday said an Audi A3 Quattro and Audi S3 saloon – with registrations F20 MUR and SP14 XTD – and two orange KTM motorbikes were taken.

They broke into her home in the early hours of last Friday and stole the vehicles’ keys as her family slept.

Connie said: “This was a team of professional thieves who knew exactly what they were doing. We think they were caught on CCTV the night before scoping out the houses in the street.

“We’re trying to make the cars too hot to handle and get the word out there.

"We’ve been told the gang are from Edinburgh and are well renowned for crimes across Scotland. They need to be caught.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of two cars and two motorbikes being stolen from an address in Greystone Park, Glenrothes around 6am on Friday 31 May.

“If anyone has any information or has seen these vehicles, please contact us on 101 quoting incident number 0451 of 31 May 2019.”
