Gang of armed men raid Scots home in 'terrifying' robbery on quiet street

Four men are being hunted after breaking into a Scots home and threatening people inside with weapons in a 'terrifying' robbery.

The thugs escaped with at least £1,000 after the raid on the home in Grayston Manor, Chryston.

Police say they men stormed the property in the North Lanarkshire village at around 7.50pm last night.

They threatened those inside with weapons before making off with a 'four figure sum of cash', Police Scotland has confirmed.

No one was hurt in the incident but the occupants are understood to be 'shaken'.

The men are believed to have travelled in a burgundy Citroen Picasso which was later found by cops.

Detective Sergeant Lorraine Wilson, of Lanarkshire CID, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for those involved, who although not physically hurt, have been left quite shaken.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and may have noticed anything suspicious to please contact police.

“I would also ask anyone who may have seen a car matching the description in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.”
