Gang of 15 teens filmed violent attack on terrified Scots schoolboys

A gang of out-of-control teen thugs videoed themselves as they assaulted two terrified 13-year-old boys.

Police said the young victims were pushed, jostled and punched as other bullies used their mobile phones to film the ordeal.

The incident happened on a footpath near the Royal Mail depot in Underwood Road, Paisley, around 8.30pm.

Cops probing the attack said a group of up to 15 teenagers approached the frightened pair before the incident.

They did not suffer any serious injuries in the assault.

An investigation is now underway to identify the three ringleaders and police are appealing to anyone who has information about the attack to come forward.

Inspector Tracy Harkins, deputy area commander for Renfrewshire, said: “Two young boys were approached and assaulted by a larger group of young people, who are also thought to have filmed the incident.

“Thankfully, the victims did not sustain any serious injuries but they have been left distressed and upset by what happened to them on Monday. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or seen a large group of teenagers in the area around that time to come forward to police.

She added: “We are also keen to view any mobile phone footage of the incident.

“If you have any footage which may be useful to our enquiries, please contact police immediately.”

Meanwhile, police are also appealing for information after a delivery driver was racially abused.

The incident happened in Renfrew Road, Paisley, around 3.10pm on Sunday.

A yob followed the victim in a black Volkswagen before telling him to ‘Go back to his own country’.

Officers investigating urge witnesses to comes forward and added: “If you have been the victim of a hate crime, always report it to the police on 101 and we will investigate.”
