Gang member jailed for 11 years has been on the run for months after walking out of prison

A convicted robber and burglar from Salford has now been on the run for two months.

Kaileb Harrison, 24, absconded from prison in January.

He walked out of HMP Thorn Cross, an open prison in the village of Appleton Thorn in Cheshire.

He was a member of a prolific organised crime gang from Manchester, Salford, and Tameside, who were caught committing numerous robberies and burglaries across the region.

Six members of the gang were jailed for a total of 65 years.

They were snared after posting a picture of them posing with a stolen Porsche on Facebook.

Harrison, from Captain Fold Road, Little Hulton, was jailed for a total of 11 years in October 2017.

The group’s rampage lasted from July to September 2015. They lay in wait for the delivery vans, then threatened security staff before stealing thousands of pounds. In one robbery they stole almost £15,000 cash while in another they escaped with £20,000.

They carried out robberies in Blackley and Middleton, plus an attempted robbery in Heywood.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "He was jailed for 11 years in October 2017 for robbery and burglary.

"Harrison is known to have links to the Little Hulton area of Greater Manchester.

"Anybody with information regarding his whereabouts should contact police on 0161 856 528.

"Information can also be passed to the independent charity - Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
