Gang leave man lying in pool of his own blood after brutal stabbing

A man was left in a pool of his own blood with multiple stab wounds after a vicious attack in Dublin.

The shocking incident happened at around 6pm in Ballymun.

An eyewitness to the incident told Dublin Live that the gang of four stabbed the victim several times and he was left with injuries to his hands and legs.

They said: "I saw it happen, I ran to help him and took my scarf off to cover his defence wounds on his hands. He had cuts on his legs, he was badly wounded.

"It's all cornered off top of Marewood Crescent going on to Balbutcher Lane.

"I couldn't believe what I was witnessing in my own area. Poor man, hope he's ok.

"Poor chap lost a lot of blood and I just hope he's ok."

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí attended the scene of an incident in Ballymun this evening, Thursday 5  November 2020 at approximately 6pm."

"A man, details currently unknown, was attended to by Emergency Services and taken to hospital after he suffered apparent stab wounds.

"No further information is available at this time. Investigations ongoing."
