Cops are hunting a gang of ten men who left two people in hospital after an attack in Irvine.
Police raced to the scene on East Road car park at around 11:50pm on Saturday, August 7.
A 20-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were assaulted by a gang dressed in black wearing facemasks.
The pair had been at a pub on Bank Street before the ten 'young men' launched the 'unprovoked' attack.
Both victims received treatment for their injuries at Crosshouse Hospital before being discharged.
Police are now urging anyone with information to come forward as they hunt for the attackers.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police are investigating an assault that occurred at 11.50 pm on Saturday 7th August 2021 in East Road car park, Irvine.
"A 20-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, were assaulted after leaving a public house on Bank Street by a group of 10 young men who were dressed all in black and wearing facemasks.
"Both victims attended Crosshouse Hospital for treatment to their injuries and were discharged a short time later.
A police spokesman said: "Although not seriously hurt this has been an frightening ordeal for the victims in this apparently unprovoked incident.
"We are seeking help from the public in identifying the suspects and ask that if you know their identities or were on either Bank Street or East Road at the time of the incident to contact police quoting incident 0620 of the 8th August."
