Officers in Ayrshire are appealing for information following a serious assault in Irvine last night.
A 35-year-old man was assaulted, by a gang of five or six young men dressed in black, at the junction of Livingston Terrance and Beaton Terrace at around 8.15pm on Thursday, November 3.
The victim was later treated at Crosshouse Hospital for a serious injury.
The attackers are believed to be aged between 18 and 25. Officers are keen to speak to them.
Detective constable Fraser Murray, of Saltcoats CID, said: “I am asking anyone who was in the area before and after this assault to get in touch as you may have information that could help with our investigation.
“I am also asking anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV that might assist with our enquiries to get in touch.”
