Gang attacks man in vicious early morning assault in Lucan, West Dublin

Gardai are on the hunt for three young thugs who battered a man in his 40s in a brutal early morning attack in west Dublin today.

The vicious assault happened shortly before 6am on Cherbury Park Road near Esker cemetery in Lucan.

A garda spokesperson told Dublin Live that they were investigating the incident, adding that the victim was taken to hospital. 

Local Facebook page Lucan Life warned its 22,000  followers of the shocking attack and suggested not walking around the area near Esker cemetery alone.

They posted: "A man was assaulted in Lucan this morning by three young men and is in hospital with serious injuries as a result.

"Can everyone please be cautious when walking alone or avoid [the area] completely."

A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of assault of a man in his late 40s by three males at Cherbury Park Road, Lucan on 18 November 2019 at approximately 5.45am.

"The injured party attended hospital with non-life threatening injuries." 

The spokesman added that there have been no arrests as yet and investigations are ongoing.
