Two workers died after a fire broke out at a polyester staple fibre plant operated by a subsidiary of Ganesha Ecosphere in Warangal, Telangana, the company said in a regulatory filing on Friday
The incident took place on August 13 at the Polyester Staple Fibre Plant area of Ganesha Ecopet Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ganesha Ecosphere, located at Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal district.

According to the company's filing, the fire incident occurred on Thursday, August 13, at the company's Polyester Staple Fibre Plant in the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park.
Firefighting operations were subsequently carried out at the facility. After the operations were completed, the company said it was discovered that two workmen had become trapped inside a lift during the incident.
Two workers die due to smoke inhalation
The company said the two workers tragically lost their lives after inhaling smoke while trapped inside the lift.
“In this regard, we regret to inform you that following the completion of firefighting operations, it came to the notice that two workmen tragically lost their lives due to smoke inhalation after getting trapped inside a lift,” the company said in its filing.
The deaths were reported as the company provided an update to its earlier communication regarding the fire.
Ganesha Ecosphere offers support to families
Ganesha Ecosphere expressed deep regret over the loss of life and offered condolences to the families of the deceased workers.
“The Company deeply regrets this unfortunate incident and the loss of life. We extend our sincere condolences to the bereaved families and are committed to providing them with all necessary support during this difficult time,” the company said.
