Gaming lenses to help people play for longer going on sale with price starting from £75

Controversial eyewear that helps gamers keep playing for longer is about to hit the shelves.

The XP PRO Gaming Lens claims to counteract any fatigue or sore eyes addicts may get while online.

Jai Kudo Lenses says its yellow-tinted product – which can be worn inside regular glasses frames – improves performance.

The Liverpool designer said: “The XP PRO Gaming Lens is an anti-fatigue lens, designed specifically to help gamers play for longer and with greater comfort, while enhancing the accuracy and recognition of fast-moving objects.”

But in February, the Information Commissioner’s Office warned that gaming companies should “encourage players to take breaks from extended play”.

The lenses will be available from independent opticians, with an expected price tag starting from £75.

The UK’s video games market hit a record £7.16billion last year, with FIFA, Fortnite and Call of Duty among the most popular.
