Games to watch for Chiefs fans in Week 8

The Kansas City Chiefs won’t be on your TV screens until Sunday Night Football.

You can spend your entire Sunday leading up to the game focused on the rest of the NFL if you so choose. Several of the games on Sunday will be important for the Chiefs for a variety of different reasons. You’ll want to look at the box scores or watch the RedZone Channel on your Fubo.tv account (try it for free).

Here are the top games for Chiefs fans to keep an eye on in Week 8:

Chargers at Bears – noon CT

The Los Angeles Chargers are tied for last place in the AFC West with the Denver Broncos. They’ve found excruciating ways to lose football games this season. They’re hoping those frustrating finishes come to an end against the Chicago Bears.

Matt Nagy is familiar with the Chargers who were a former AFC West rival when he was with the Chiefs. He hasn’t been able to get much going with Mitch Trubisky at the helm of the Bears offense. They still boast a dominant defense which could frustrate the Chargers but the key will be getting the offense to perform and put up points.

Broncos at Colts – noon CT

After defeating the Chiefs in Week 5, the Colts have become a clear competitor when it comes to playoff seeding. They hold the head-to-head advantage over the Chiefs, so the Chiefs need the Colts to finish with a worse record than Kansas City.

The Broncos just suffered a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the Chiefs. They were unable to slow down the Chiefs offense, even sans Patrick Mahomes. They were also unable to get their own offense going. If the Broncos were somehow able to get their mojo back against a tough Colts team on the road or suffer a defeat at their hands, you wouldn’t find many Chiefs fans complaining about either result.

Buccaneers at Titans – noon CT

By most accounts, the earliest that Patrick Mahomes should be able to return to action for the Chiefs is against the Titans on the road in Week 10. Tennessee hasn’t had the best of seasons so far but they could have a renewed energy about them. Recently they opted to bench Marcus Mariota in favor of Ryan Tannehill. They also activated their injured first-round pick, Jeffery Simmons, from the PUP list.

When the Chiefs finally get a crack at the Titans, they could just be hitting their stride on both sides of the ball. Paying attention to the next few games will be important, they potentially hold the key to some weaknesses that the Chiefs could exploit when Week 10 arrives.

Raiders at Texans – 3:25 p.m. CT

Shockingly, the Raiders are currently the biggest threat to the Chiefs in the AFC West. They’re still 2.5 games behind the Chiefs and lost their only home matchup with Kansas City. They’ll be looking to gain ground on the Chiefs while they have star quarterback Patrick Mahomes sidelined with a knee injury. They won’t have an easy time against a tough Texans team.

Houston is another AFC conference contender. They’ve got a great offense featuring Deshaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins and Carlos Hyde. It’ll be a difficult matchup for the Raiders to handle. As with most games we’ve covered today, either result seems to favor the Chiefs.
