Game of Thrones' Battle of Winterfell was the longest and most epic fight TV has ever seen - for those who actually managed to see it.
Hyped up viewers were disappointed when much of the action was barely visible thanks the low-lighting of of episode three.
But the show's cinematographer has now defended his creation, blaming the viewers and not the crew for the dark picture.
Fabian Wagner believes The Long Night was compressed by HBO, which lead to poorer visual quality.
He said it was made even worse by the online streaming services with poor connections favoured by some fans.

The defiant film buff denied that the episode wasn't too dark to watch.
"I know it wasn't too dark because I shot it," he insisted to TMZ .
Fabian suggested that viewers watch it in a dark environment like a cinema.
He said: "[GoT] has always been very dark and a very cinematic show."

It took the cast 55 nights to film the battle, finishing at 7am every day, in awful weather conditions.
Maisie Williams, who plays Arya, told Entertainment Weekly the busy filming schedule left her "broken".
She said: "Nothing can prepare you for how physically draining it is. It’s night after night, and again and again, and it just doesn’t stop."
