Actor Clive Mantle, known to many for his leading role as Mike Barratt in long-running BBC drama Casualty, is coming to Nottinghamshire later month as the star guest at a festive concert.
It's not the first time the 62-year-old, who has also appeared in Game of Thrones, The Vicar of Dibley, Robin of Sherwood and Holby City, will have taken part in Southwell Music Festival’s Christmas Celebration at Southwell Minster.
His return on Friday, December 20, follows a visit last year when he joined in the annual gathering for fans of choral music and festive cheer.
Although the actor won't be singing.
"Our brilliant Festival Voices will be exploring magnificent music from mediaeval times to the present day and I’m very pleased that Clive is returning to contribute wonderful seasonal readings in his inimitable style," said artistic director Marcus Farnsworth.
As well as his acting work, Mantle has put his voice to good use narrating more than 180 audio books. He was also the voice of Gator in children's animation Thomas the Tank Engine.
This year he became an award-winning author when his first book, The Treasure at the Top of the World, won the People’s Book Prize.
