And Derrick Rose contributed 14 points and six rebounds for the Bulls, who are 9-3 on the road. The Bulls outrebounded the Nets 50-34 and limited them to 37.1 percent shooting.
Turning point
Gasol scored eight points, Butler added six and Rose had two pretty fast-break feeds to Butler and a 3-pointer in a 17-4 run over the first half of the third quarter. The spurt gave the Bulls a 65-50 lead.
Tribune's player of the game
Butler. Not only did he continue his offensive renaissance, he helped hold Joe Johnson to three points on 1-for-7 shooting.
Big number
1 This marked the first time the Bulls started their regular lineup of Rose, Butler, Gasol, Joakim Noah and Mike Dunleavy in back-to-back games and didn't lose anybody to injury in the second game. Rose left the Nov. 13 road victory in Toronto late with a hamstring injury the previous time the starters began consecutive games.
The quote I
"I like the way we're playing on the road. I like our mindset." -- Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau
The quote II
"Just trying to string some games together and get better every quarter, have amnesia. I shot two airballs tonight. I think that's the first ever. Just trying to take every positive out of the situation and really drive off it." -- Rose.
