Game time for Ohio State-Cincinnati in-state matchup announced

The Ohio State Buckeyes will take on their former co-defensive coordinator and now University of Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell in 2019. We already knew that.

However, what we didn’t know was when it would be and if it were going to be on national television. Now, we have an answer and can set our calendars accordingly.

Per GoBearcats.com, the Bearcats will take on the Buckeyes in Columbus on September 7 at noon. This game will indeed be nationally televised on ABC. This will be in Week two of the NCAA’s three-month long season.

That being said, the Buckeyes will undoubtedly be the favorite being both as home and the better team. But, after UC’s first ten-win season in over five years and their first 11-win season in almost a decade it could be an underrated challenge for Ohio State.

With a handful of starters returning this game won’t be a gimme. This will be a fight, and with the underdog mentality, I wouldn’t mark it as a blowout quite yet.
