Another supply of PlayStation 5 consoles has sold out today.
GAME released an estimated batch of 10,000-15,000 PS5s on Wednesday morning, one day after Argos and Amazon's new supplies were eagerly snapped up by fans.
However, fans encountered problems with the video game retailer's website throughout the day, complaining of ever-extending queues and the site crashing just as they got to the checkout, before the stock ran out at around 3pm.
Another announcement at lunchtime that Curry's had released supplies of both the Digital and Disc Editions turned out to be a false alarm, but still led to thousands of fans flocking to its website.
Thousands of gamers are still desperately trying to get hold of a PS5, going up against other fans and scalpers who have been infuriating fans by snapping up consoles and immediately reselling them for inflated prices.
New supplies are predicted next week at a number of retailers.
Another tipster, Ps5Instant, has also predicted Very and Curry's will release new supplies in the first week of March, followed by AI, ShopTo and John Lewis a week later although no date or time has been confirmed by either retailer.
However, PS5StockAlertUK later tweeted to say: "By the way to clear this out the way, Very won’t be dropping this week, and Smyths Toys should be dropping this Friday/Saturday.
"Other retailers who haven’t dropped yet, or won’t drop drop tomorrow will probably drop next week."
Some desperate gamers are also being conned by social media fraudsters claiming to be selling the elusive console at retail price.
Some victims have spoken about being conned out of hundreds of pounds by online tricksters who have disappeared as soon as they have received payment.
One mum said she was "embarrassed and pretty crushed" after transferring $550 (£395) to a scammer after saving for months for a PS5.
She has warned frustrated gamers to not rush into sending money to people on Twitter claiming they have consoles for sale, and to take a step back.
