'Game of Thrones'-themed dinner at Elizabeth restaurant

Jan. 12--For fans still reeling from "Game of Thrones'" loss to "The Affair" Sunday at the Golden Globes, they can perk themselves up with tickets to Elizabeth restaurant's "Game of Thrones"-themed menu in April and May.

Chef Iliana Regan announced the 12-15 course tasting menu, which will overlap with the HBO show's fifth season, to customers on Saturday via email.

"Game of Thrones" is a much more specific theme from Regan, best known for foraging and her seasonal menus simply referred to as spring, summer, fall and winter.

In the email, Regan appealed to diners' inner and outer nerds, saying not only to expect hearty foods worthy of a dragon-breeder, but also letting everyone know it's totally fine to dress up -- and she's not talking Marc Jacobs.

Perhaps taking into account the risk of a Michelin-starred restaurant favoring kitschy fun over staid formality, ticket prices have been kept to a relatively inexpensive $55 or $65 a person (before drink pairings). By comparison, tickets to the normal menus throughout February and March are $85-$155.

Tickets to the April "Game of Thrones" evenings sold fast, so Elizabeth added dates Monday through May 16. Only a few remain and are available here.

Elizabeth restaurant is at 4835 N. Western Ave.
