Game of Thrones stars admit telling loved ones final episode spoilers

It seems the cast of Game of Thrones are struggling to contain their excitement ahead of the forthcoming final season.

A number of the hit HBO show's biggest stars have confessed to telling loved ones details of certain episodes – including the finale.

Emilia Clarke told The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that she had broken the rules and told her mother about the end of the series.

"I've got to be honest... I did, I wasn't supposed to, I told my mum," she said. "The good thing about telling my mum was that she's a vault. Because she's [already] forgotten it."

Stephen Colbert said he was jealous and wanted the ending told to him time and time again. Clarke joked: "If she falls asleep on a plane, I'm quite worried she's going to say it [talking in her sleep] and not know it happened."

Clarke was more serious when she said she had cried and gone "for a long walk" after reading the script for the final season. "I couldn't quite handle that. It should have been raining, it was that kind of a moment," she said.

Elsewhere, Sophie Turner confirmed that her fiance, Joe Jonas, knows the ending of Game of Thrones and was actually on set for "most of" the season 8 filming.

"He kind of figured it out, and then he had to sign an NDA," Turner said. "He had to have full photo approval on set, his camera was covered up, everything."

Turner previously shared that Jonas knows the ending in March, revealing: "I've just told Joe, but he's so mad at me – he loves the show!" She added: "Well, I have to tell someone, otherwise I'll burst."

Maisie Williams pulled an April Fools prank on the Jimmy Fallon show where she "accidentally revealed" a massive season 8 spoiler.

Viewers watched as Williams appeared to confirm Arya Stark's death in the forthcoming season before running off stage in apparent despair at her mess-up.

However, she swiftly returned and confirmed the whole thing was a prank.

Game of Thrones season 8 begins on HBO on 14 April. You can watch all of seasons 1 – 7 on NowTV.
