Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams set to sashay onto Ru Paul's Drag Race as guest judge

Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams has been confirmed as guest judge for the UK series of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Fresh from the battlefields of Westeros, Williams – who shot to fame as Arya Stark – became the first special guest to be announced for the drag queen spectacular, which is set to air on BBC Three.

“What I love the most about drag is the story of the drag queen behind the façade,” Williams said of her casting.

“I think that so much of drag comes from a place of real pain and seeing how that transforms into a character is so interesting to me.”

The 22-year-old, who first found stardom at 13, will feature in one episode alongside RuPaul and Michelle Visage, who is also a regular on the US version of the show.

And fans are already beside themselves with excitement at the “crossover they never knew they needed” with a key Thrones name headed for Drag Race.

One wrote: “MAISIE WILLIAMS IS GONNA BE ON THE JUDGING PANEL FOR DRAG RACE UK I AM SCREAMING.”

Another said: “Maisie Williams being confirmed as a guest judge for drag race uk has made my morning.”

Several fans referenced Arya once asking “what’s west of Westeros” with a series of RuPaul and Drag Race memes.

As well as confirmed Williams for the panel, Drag Race revealed several weeks ago that Graham Norton and Alan Carr will also be a part of the popular show.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will air on BBC Three.
