After eight seasons playing Arya Stark in Game of Thrones , Maisie Williams has announced she's taking a break from acting.
The 22-year-old revealed she'd even dyed her hair pink in a bid to stop being cast in roles.
After joining the show at just 12-years-old, Maisie admitted that she didn't get to experiment with her appearance in the way other teenagers do because she had to look like tomboy Arya.
She told Rolling Stone : "I guess, subconsciously, I dyed it because I didn’t want to work. It’s a pretty good way of stopping that. And it just feels so good, so me.
“I’ve battled my whole adolescence with trying to put a stamp on my appearance, but also be a blank canvas as an actor.
“What’s hit me the most about the show ending isn’t the show ending. It’s like, I’m free. I can do anything now.”
Maisie previously teased the GoT ending, promising fans that it is going to be 'beautiful'.
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine , Maisie said: "The last chapter was really beautiful and I'm going to miss it.
"It's really strange; now, in this final season, is when I've done the most reflecting and looking back on the first season.
"I don't remember what my life was like before this show. I just had no idea, really, of how big it was going to get."
Game of Thrones returned to our screens last night for its eighth and final season.
