Game of Thrones star James Cosmo drops out of Liverpool Comic Con just days before the event

Liverpool Comic Con has confirmed that Game of Thrones star James Cosmo has dropped out of the event just days before it is set to take over Liverpool Exhibition Centre.

The actor, who is known for playing Jeor Mormont in the award-winning adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s novels, was due to appear on the Saturday and Sunday of the event.

Liverpool Comic Con shared the news on Facebook, while also revealing that Saw franchise star Costas Mandylor would be unable to attend the event too.

The full post read: “Unfortunately we've heard that Costas Mandylor and James Cosmo will be unable to attend the Comic Con this weekend due to other professional commitments.

“All autographs and photographs will be refunded automatically (you do not need to contact us). Depending on who you bank with, the money will be returned to your account within 5-7 days.”

Fans have been quick to share their sadness at the news in the comments.

One person said: “I am gutted it was one of my Christmas presents getting a picture with him and getting my Game of Thrones book signed.”

Another added: “Nooooo not JC again”.

Cosmo is also known for his roles in Trainspotting, Sons of Anarchy, Highlander and Braveheart.

Liverpool Comic Con returns to the Exhibition Centre this weekend, from March 6 - 8.
