The Battle of Winterfell is about to begin in Game of Thrones but as the army of the dead arrive, fans have one question - where is the Night King?
A fan's theory on Reddit could have the answer and if this is the case, it will be one of the biggest game changers the series has ever seen.
As the leaders of the White Walkers gathered with the army of undead, there was one noticeable absentee from the line-up.
This also brought on the realisation that so far this series, there hasn't been a sighting of the Night King and it could be that he is giving Winterfell a swerve to wreak havoc elsewhere.

Reddit user qp0n has theorised that instead of joining the fun at Winterfell, the Night King is actually heading to King's Landing with his zombie dragon.
This game changer stacks up too and it means that all bets are off as to what will happen next in Game of Thrones.
So, the theory is that the Night King won't risk Viserion in a battle with Drogon and Rhaegal at Winterfell and is actually taking a splinter army further south.

The last we know is Daenerys saying that there are at least 100,000 White Walkers and this is before they broke through The Wall.
It can be expected that those numbers have grown significantly in the march to Winterfell.
We also know that King's Landing is the home of 'over a million people', so laying waste to them while the armies of the living are battling at Winterfell will mean the Night King has even more undead to lead back north.

The theory looked back to season two, in which Daenerys had a vision about the Throne Room at King's Landing.
In the vision, the room was destroyed and the place was covered in snow, which could be the reality of losing to the White Walkers.
In season four, Bran also had a vision and this was of a dragon's shadow flying over King's Landing.

While it was thought that this was Daenerys coming to claim the Iron Throne, the snow-covered vision of Dany's could mean that this is the Night King's zombie dragon casting the shadow.
The theory also concludes that because Bran has been 'marked' by the Night King, he will be willing to leave him until King's Landing has been laid to waste.
Of course, Cersei has dispatched Bronn north, so he could be the first to spot the Night King's advances but whether he returns to King's Landing or heads to Winterfell to raise the alarm, could go either way.
