Game of Thrones season 8: Kit Harington calls Jon Snow the 'unfunniest character to have ever graced TV'

While all of the Game of Thrones cast have been sharing nostalgic stories about their time on the show, along with hinting at what's to come in the eighth and final season, it seems that some are more excited about moving on than others.

Kit Harington, who plays Iron Throne contender Jon Snow in the HBO fantasy saga, has spoken on several occasions about how his character is, well... miserable.

"I have played possibly the unfunniest character ever to have graced television," he told Emmy magazine. "I love comedy. But Jon Snow is not a joke person. It's quite nice to now subvert what people see you as, and show that you can be funny."

He added: "In some ways comedy works even better if you're the overly serious guy in a ridiculous comedy, then it can be even funnier."

Despite the seriousness of his character, Emilia Clarke recently revealed about how much fun it's been with Harington on set, even in the slightly more awkward scenes.

"The first scene we had together we both just started laughing," she told Variety, referring to the moment Jon Snow meets Daenerys. "Why are you looking at me in this strange way and saying these strange lines? You're my friend!"

She also divulged how Harington pretended to throw up during their sex scene together: "Oh my God, mate you're not making this any easier!"

Game of Thrones returns to HBO on 14 April, seasons 1 – 7 are available to watch on NOW TV.
