Game of Thrones season 8: Iain Glen reveals what Daenerys whispered in Ser Jorah's ear

*Spoiler warning for Game of Thrones season 8*

Game of Thrones star Iain Glen has claimed that fans will never know what it was that Daenerys whispered to Ser Jorah  following his death at the Battle of Winterfell.

The actor bowed out of the hit HBO series after his character gave his life to protect his queen in "The Long Night", and his body was given a fitting send-off in the following episode.

During the scene, just before igniting the wood beneath his corpse, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) leans over him and whispers something.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Glen revealed that viewers were not supposed to hear what Daenerys said, nor were their fellow cast members.

The stage direction for the scene read: “Daenerys whispers something to him that he’ll never hear and we’ll never know…”

It was therefore left to Clarke to come up with her own line, which Glen says is being kept as a secret between them.

"It’s something entirely sincere and true to the moment and something that I’ll never forget," he said.

Asked if he was prepared to be badgered by fans wanting to know what it was, he replied:“Yeah, but you know what? I’ll always cherish it because it’s something no one will ever know but the two of us. And that’s a memory to hold onto.”

Game of Thrones continues this Sunday on HBO in the US, and Sky Atlantic and NowTV in the UK.
