Game of Thrones season 8 episode 4: HBO appears to remove infamous coffee cup from The Last of the Starks

HBO has removed the now infamous coffee cup that appeared by mistake in the fantasy drama.

The cup could originally be seen in The Last of the Starks, the fourth episode in the show’s current and final eighth season, during a celebration scene following the Battle of Winterfell.

While it still shows up on Hulu, the cup appears to have been scrubbed from HBO Now, the network’s streaming service.

Right around the 17:40 mark, Tormund Giantsbane has his hand on Jon Snow’s shoulder, while Daenerys Targaryen watches from the side.

The cup, which was first spotted on the table in front of Daenerys, no longer appears in HBO Now’s episode.

The Independent has contacted HBO for more information.

This is the scene as it originally appeared. The coffee cup remained visible as of Tuesday morning when the episode was accessed on Hulu through the HBO add-on. (Hulu / HBO)

Fans were left baffled after spotting the out-of-place item during Sunday night’s broadcast. HBO later acknowledged the mistake from Game of Thrones‘ official Twitter account, joking: ”News from Winterfell. The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake.

“Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.”

Game of Thrones is available on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK, and on HBO in the US.
