Game of Thrones script reveals Daenerys' harsh final thoughts on Tyrion Lannister

Hand of the Queen, no more.

The final season of Game of Thrones saw the relationship between Tyrion Lannister ( Peter Dinklage ) and his beloved Queen Daenerys Targaryen ( Emilia Clarke ) deteriorate as they began to disagree more and more on their strategies to win the Iron Throne from his scheming sister, Cersei Lannister ( Lena Headey ).

Ultimately, Tyrion lost all trust and confidence in Daenerys after she burned King's Landing and obliterated innocent people - along with Cersei and Jaime Lannister - despite the city surrendering to her rule.

The Emmy-nominated script for the finale The Iron Throne has revealed just how little the pair really thought of each other by the end.

Much of Tyrion's own feeling appear to be self-hatred at his own failure to stop her: "Tyrion sees no point in arguing his case. He looks around the ruined city. He begged her not to do this, and she did it anyway. Hundreds of thousands have died. He wanted a bloodless revolution. He would have gladly died to put her on the throne without the horror they just witnessed. But he failed."

Daenerys, meanwhile, has nothing but contempt for her Hand of the Queen as he resigns his post.

The script says: "At one point, this betrayal would have hurt Dany deeply. That point is long gone. She stares at her former Hand with anger, disgusted that she trusted him so deeply for so long."

Savage.

Later, when Jon Snow begs Dany to show mercy to Tyrion for earlier freeing a captive Jaime, her response is calculated but ruthless.

"She considers his plea for clemency for a long moment," the script says. "But she cannot grant it."

It is one of multiple factors that lead Jon to kill his beloved Queen, but Kit Harington maintains it's for a different reason.
