The links between between the music world and Game of Thrones are legion: Sigur Rós appeared as wedding minstrels in one episode of the show, Mastodon played wildlings who were slaughtered by White Walkers in the last season, and the National and the Hold Steady are among the bands who have recorded songs for the popular fantasy series. Then, of course, there was Coldplay’s Red Nose Day USA spoof Game of Thrones musical, featuring songs such as Rastafarian Targaryen.

Now one cast member has released his debut single. Kristian Nairn has put out Up (Club Mix) ft Leanne Robinson, having already played a three-month Rave of Thrones tour across the US and UK. As you might expect from the title, it’s a four-to-the-floor house track – though, sadly, Nairn has not yet recorded a cover of Underworld’s Born Slippy, replacing the “lager, lager, lager, lager” chant with “Hodor, Hodor, Hodor, Hodor.”
