Game of Thrones fans turn out in force as Iron Throne comes to Glasgow as part of UK tour

The final season is almost upon us - but Glaswegians had an early chance to celebrate today.

Fans of  Game of Thrones formed huge queues at Intu Braehead this morning as The Iron Throne stopped over as part of a massive tour.

The most hotly-contested seat on TV was a huge draw, it'll be no surprise to learn, but if you missed your opportunity, never fear!

It's sticking around again tomorrow too.

If you head along on Monday for a go in the hotseat from the hit HBO series, you'll be following in the footsteps of Aegon the Conqueror, kings Robert, Joffrey and Tommen, and Queen Cersei to take their place on the coveted throne.

Four things around Glasgow Uni that really could have inspired Harry Potter

You will also have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be pictured in The North Kingdom's version of the throne.

Seven Kingdoms Tour ambassador and Thronecast presenter Sue Perkins said: “I can’t wait for the final season of Game of Thrones and am very excited for the 7 Kingdoms Tour.

"While the likes of Cersei and Joffrey were fully prepared to cheat, lie and murder to sit in the throne, it’s great that fans of the show don’t quite need to go to those lengths. Aside from giddily awaiting the start of the final season, I’ll also be hosting the final series of Thronecast, starting with a special series preview on Sky Atlantic.”

Visit the Iron Throne at Intu Braehead from 10am-9pm tomorrow. (Monday).

The final series of Game of Thrones starts on Sky Atlantic from Monday, April 15.
