Game of Thrones fans could get £100 compensation if plot is spoiled

Disgruntled Game of Thrones fans can claim monetary compensation if they have fallen victim to spoilers.

Endsleigh Insurance Services have announced they will be offering 'Spoiler Cover' to GoT fans.

This new policy, which is the first of its kind in the UK, will allow fans to claim financial compensation for plot lines ruined by friends, relatives or social media.

Claimants will also receive a consolatory NOW TV pass so they can revisit each of the eight epic seasons at their leisure.

Up to £100 per person will be offered if your viewing experience has been tarnished by a spoiler, the Mirror reports.

There are only a limited number of payouts available so not everyone will get compensated for their "loss."

In order to be in with a shot, you will need to describe – in 100 words – how the plot was spoiled for you, alongside supporting evidence.

Payouts are equal amongst all spoilers and can be historical - so if you had something spoiled for you back in the days of season three, you can still make a claim today.

Unwanted plot reveal

Julia Alpan, head of marketing at Endsleigh, said: "Game of Thrones is one of the biggest shows of the decade and the last few episodes promise to bring in some of the largest audiences on record.

"With the show historically airing on US screens ahead of the UK, spoilers have always been an issue - so we wanted to address that head on with the first ever spoiler insurance policy, that will offer financial compensation for anyone whose day is ruined by an unwanted plot reveal.

"This is the first time we've launched a spoiler insurance offering, but if we receive a good response then we might even roll the policy out for other popular TV shows - next up, Love Island!"
