One day after HBO Spain accidentally aired episode 6 of Game of Thrones’ seventh season, an HD version of the episode has been uploaded on torrent sharing sites.
In a statement to AP, HBO said that it had “learned that the upcoming episode of Game of Thrones was accidentally posted for a brief time on the HBO Nordic and HBO Espana platforms.”
“The error appears to have originated with a third party vendor and the episode was removed as soon as it was recognised,” the statement added.
The file was shared on Reddit with links to YouTube, Instagram and other streaming services, but it appears that new links are being created faster than HBO can take them down.
Hundreds of thousands of users were sharing the files on sites like PirateBay:
This is the second episode of the season to have been leaked. Episode 4 was shared on torrent sites after individuals connected to HBO’s Indian streaming partner, Hotstar, leaked it. On Monday, four persons were arrested in connection with leak by Mumbai Police.
Early Thursday morning, HBO’s Twitter account also seemed to have been hacked.
Death is the Enemy, the penultimate episode of the season will officially air on Monday on Hotstar, and on Tuesday on Star World and Star World HD.
