Game of Thrones: Does Cersei Lannister survive? Lena Headey hints at her character's fate

Game Of Thrones actress Lena Headey has hinted that Cersei Lannister won’t die during the final episodes of the show.

The actress, who has been part of the HBO hit since its debut, teased the immortality of her character because people “don’t like her”.

Chatting to Chris Evans on his Virgin Radio breakfast show, Headey agreed that fans often get invested in a character before having a quick panic about their fate, but joked that Cersei will live forever because she isn’t loved.

“If you fall in love with a character, they’re going to die,” she said. “Well, apart from Cersei, because no one likes her, so she’s been sticking around.

Headey went on to discuss how unpopular her character has been throughout the show, which comes to an end in a matter of weeks.

She also revealed her one regret was never being able to weild a sword.

She said: “I’m heavily unemployed now. I always begged the producers, can I just get a sword?

“I’ve never beheaded anyone...I just drink wine.”

While Headey may have managed to stay tight-lipped on the ending of Thrones, her comments come hours after her co-star Kit Harington admitted that he had to tell one person how it all ends because the secret got “too much”.

“It got too much, so I’ve told one person – my friend James, who doesn’t watch the show and fell asleep in the first episode of the very first season,” the actor told Graham Norton. “I knew then that he was zero interested in what I do.”

Chatting to the host on his self-titled show, Harington joked that his friend “couldn’t look less interested if he tried” despite being told how the fantasy series ends.
