- The costume designer for Game of Thrones has revealed that the White Walkers' armour was too dangerous for use in action scenes.
- Michele Clapton told The Guardian that the metal armour was also incredibly labour-intensive and hazardous to make.
- “The armourists just loathed it because they really cut themselves. It’s almost like a huge cheese grater,” she told the publication.
- Because of the risk of injuries to the actors, a safer leather substitute had to be created for the White Walkers' action sequences.
- Actors portraying the White Walkers also had to wear hot water bottles beneath their costumes to keep warm.
